Pierre Yngve Scholarship 2026

As in 2025, I once again felt a deep inner calling this year to establish a scholarship dedicated to supporting untrained artists and other creative individuals. Ah, what an exhilarating journey it has been.

First and foremost, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the participants — thank you for your letters and your applications. To select only two recipients from the multitude of submissions was no easy task. Truly, I would have wished to support everyone in need of a scholarship; yet such generosity lies beyond my means. Regrettably so.

The Pierre Yngve Scholarship 2026 is awarded to @Selma Røen … while @Guro Hansen will receive a financial grant, which she may use, for example, towards materials or one of her artistic projects. My warmest congratulations to both.

Both Selma and Guro work, among other things, with analogue photography. Selma has developed a number of compelling ideas and hopes, in the future, to incorporate more yarn and knitting into her images. In Guro's application, I was particularly struck by the thoughtful way in which she reflects upon her artistic path and creative practice; she also possesses a remarkably graceful and eloquent writing style.
