The story behind that picture

Aus der Serie „Prager Frühling“:

Das Cafe Slavia ist ein Ort der Ruhe, des guten Essens/Trinkens und auch der richtige Platz um das Treiben an den Ufern der Moldau in Prag zu beobachten. Erwischt man einen Fensterplatz an der Ecke kann man auch hinüberschauen, zur Prager Burg. In meiner Zeit im Jahr 2018 war ich gerne dort und habe das Ambiente und die Atmosphäre im Cafe immer sehr genossen. Ich weiß nicht, ob es den alten Klavierspieler noch gibt, welcher immer nur ein Lied kurz angestimmt hat, um dann kurz darauf seine Aufmerksamkeit seinem (altertümlichen) Telefon zu widmen.

Da ich mich in der Schwarz-Weiss Dunkelkammer wohler fühle als in der Dunkelkammer für Farbfotografie, habe ich den Fotografen Gonçalo Carvalho gebeten diese Bild für mich zu printen und es sind insgesamt drei schöne Kopien entstanden. Obrigado, Gonçalo!

From the „Prague Spring“ series:

Cafe Slavia is a place of tranquility, good food and drinks, and also the perfect place to observe the hustle and bustle on the banks of the Vltava River in Prague. If you get a window seat on the corner, you can even look across to Prague Castle. During my time there in 2018, I enjoyed the ambiance and atmosphere of the cafe. I don’t know if the old piano player is still there, who would just briefly start playing a song and then shortly afterwards turn his attention to his (antique) mobile phone.

Since I feel more comfortable in a black and white darkroom than in a color darkroom, I asked the photographer Gonçalo Carvalho to print this image for me, and he created three beautiful copies.
