Aus der Serie „Prager Frühling“:

In 2018 habe ich einen Frühling in Prag verbracht und bin oft mit meinen Kameras umhergezogen. Ich habe damals mit einer analogen Mittelformatkamera (Mamiya 645) und Farbfilm gearbeitet, was ich im Moment eher selten tue. Einer meiner Lieblingsorte in Prag ist die Moldauinsel „Střelecký“. Viele Touristen aber auch Einheimische sind dort und füttern die Nutrias (eigentlich Verboten!) oder schauen hinüber zur Karlsbrücke. Dieses Bild ist an einem frühen Abend enstanden und in 2024 fragte mich der Fotograf Terje Abusdal ob ich bei dieser Aufnahme etwa an Henrie Cartier Bressons Fotografie „Sunday on the Banks of the Marne“ gedacht habe?

Da ich mich in der Schwarz-Weiss Dunkelkammer wohler fühle als in der Dunkelkammer für Farbfotografie, habe ich den Fotografen Gonçalo Carvalho gebeten diese Bild für mich zu printen und es sind insgesamt drei schöne Kopien entstanden.

In 2018, I spent a spring in Prague and often wandered around with my cameras. Back then, I worked with an analog medium-format camera (Mamiya 645) and color film, something I rarely do these days. One of my favorite places in Prague is the Střelecký Island on the Vltava River. Many tourists, as well as locals, are there, feeding the nutria (actually forbidden!) or gazing over at the Charles Bridge. This photo was taken one early evening, and in 2024, the photographer Terje Abusdal asked me if I was thinking of Henrie Cartier-Bresson’s photograph „Sunday on the Banks of the Marne“ when I took this shot.

Since I feel more comfortable in a black and white darkroom than in a color darkroom, I asked the photographer Gonçalo Carvalho to print this image for me, and he created three beautiful copies.
